Decorate your Home or office for Inspiration and Self-Expression

As creative people, we always suffer with creative block, whether writer's block or artist block. We need to constantly be inspired to create more interesting and innovative ideas that will keep us ahead of our competitors. One way to get that inspiration is to make your home or office space into a relaxing haven without distractions or any negativity.

Make a list of five things that you relate with or are attracted to. It can be objects, people, symbols, style, hobbies, interests, photographs, pictures, etc.

Keep walls a soft color, whether white, off-white, cream, yellow or light blue. Let your five main pieces give your room personality and style. Decorate with simple and clean lines. And buy organizers of the same color to keep everything in its place.

For example, my favorite things are animals, my camera, drawing, ice skating, and reading. Against my off-white walls, I would decorate my place with my book collection in bookshelf, framed photographs and drawings of my artwork as well as pictures of pets. I might also add a camera or ice skates as main centerpiece for decoration.

Furthermore, take at least one hour a day to meditate for inspiration. Use soft music and candlelight, and focus on the flare as you meditate. It is best to meditate early in the morning in order to start your day on the right track toward future progress.
